Steve Mamanella

Steve Mamanella joined Ascension Health in 2003. His primary responsibilities as Communications Manager have included developing and leading strategic communications efforts in support of Ascension Health's Healthcare That Leaves No One Behind initiatives.

Mr. Mamanella previously worked for the Archdiocese of St. Louis, where he served for five years in a variety of roles including Community Relations Director, Communications Director, and Director of Internal Communications. A highlight of his tenure with the Archdiocese was helping direct the communications and media relations team for the 1999 Pastoral Visit of Pope John Paul II to St. Louis, as more than 2,500 members of the news media received credentials to cover the historic event. Mr. Mamanella also co-hosted a weekly, live Catholic radio program, and served on the Editorial Board of the Archdiocese's newspaper, the St. Louis Review.

Mr. Mamanella is a member of the St. Louis Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, and is a member and former board representative of the Catholic Academy for Communication Arts Professionals. In 1999 the Catholic Academy presented him with the Clarion Award for outstanding service to the organization and to the field of Catholic communications.

A St. Louis native, Mr. Mamanella is a graduate of Bradley University in Peoria, Ill., where he earned a degree in Communications-News. He headed the communications office of the 26-county Catholic Diocese of Peoria for five years before returning to the St. Louis area in 1997 to serve as Public Relations Supervisor for the City of Maryland Heights, the same suburb in which he was raised.

Mr. Mamanella lives in Hazelwood, Mo., with his wife, Tricia, and two sons.
