Nihilism
A theory that promotes the state of believing in nothing, having no allegiances and no purpose. The term is commonly misused to refer to all persons who do not share a particular world view or set of objective values, i.e. what is more properly referred to as relativism. Nihilism differs from relativism, however, in so far as a relativist may hold that there are moral values but that we cannot know what these values are or that there is no one source of moral value but many different equally valid sources, while a true Nihilist would not admit that moral values even exist.
