Sr. Janet Fleischhacker, CSJ, currently serves as a member of the Sponsors Council of Ascension Health.

Sr. Janet served as President of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Nazareth in Michigan from 1995 to 2007. Prior to that position, Sr. Janet was client services supervisor for the YWCA Domestic Assault Program in Kalamazoo, Mich., and director of formation for the Sisters of St. Joseph. She served as coordinator for vocation services for the diocese of Lansing, Mich., and taught elementary school for eight years.

Sr. Janet served as an adjunct faculty member at Western Michigan University School of Social Work and is a certified domestic violence instructor with the Michigan Law Enforcement Training Council. In addition, she holds a certification in spiritual and retreat direction and is a certified intern supervisor for the spiritual direction internship with Colombiere Center for Spirituality in Clarkston, Mich.

She received a bachelor’s degree in English and education from Nazareth College in Kalamazoo, Mich., and a master’s degree in social ministry from St. Mary’s College in Winona, Minn.

Sr. Janet previously served as trustee and board chair for the Sisters of St. Joseph Health System and as trustee for Genesys Health System, Grand Blanc, Mich.
