John O'Neil Ascension Health New York/Connecticut Ministry Market Leader Chief Executive Officer of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton, N.Y.
John O'Neil is the Chief Executive Officer of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, NY., and also serves as the New York/Connecticut Ministry Market Leader for Ascension Health. In this role, he provides strategic and operational leadership for Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Hospital while promoting alignment among Health Ministries within the New York/Connecticut market and with the System Office on issues related to Mission and Vision. In addition, Mr. O'Neil will share accountability for strategic positioning and operational performance of the Health Ministries in his market, which are Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital; St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, N.Y.; Mount St. Mary's Hospital and Health Center, Lewiston, N.Y.; Seton Health, Troy, N.Y.; and St. Vincent's Health Services, Bridgeport, Conn.
Prior to joining Lourdes Hospital, Mr. O'Neil was the Executive Vice President/Administrator at St. Mary's Warrick Hospital in Boonville, Ind., from 1993 to 1999. He began his career at Pekin Memorial Hospital in 1981, serving in a number of leadership roles, including Vice President of Medical Staff Services.
Mr. O'Neil holds a bachelor's degree in business and psychology from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, and a master's degree in health services administration from Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant.
Mr. O'Neil is a member of the American Hospital Association Region 2 Advisory Council and the American College of Healthcare Executives, as well as the Executive Committee of the Iroquois Hospital Association in New York. He serves on the board of the American Cancer Society - Southern Tier Chapter, Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce, and Broome Community College Foundation.
